BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.07 percent to 3,295.06 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.39 percent higher at 9,917.06 points.

The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.11 trillion yuan (about $154 billion), unchanged from the previous trading day.

Shares in the electricity and white goods sectors led the gains, while those related to precious metal and pharmaceuticals were among the biggest losers.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.59 percent to close at 1,947.19 points Friday.
