SINGAPORE - Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has officially been appointed as the secretary-general of the ruling People's Action Party (PAP), as the party unveiled its 38th central executive committee appointments on Wednesday.

In May, Wong took over the prime ministerial role from Lee Hsien Loong, who had led the nation for two decades.

Wong will lead the PAP into the next general election, which has yet to be scheduled but must take place by November 2025.
