Shenzhen launched a free shuttle bus service on August 10, linking Shenzhen Museum (深圳博物馆) with other cultural attractions in Futian District.
The 15-minute bus ride starts from Jintian Road Hall of Shenzhen Museum, with stops near Shenzhen Library (深圳图书馆), Shenzhen Concert Hall (深圳音乐厅), Central Book City (中心书城), and Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. Buses run every 3 minutes during peak hours.
A Hong Kong student surnamed Wong was pleasantly surprised by the free bus service after touring Shenzhen Museum. “So I would visit the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning as well,” Wong told Shenzhen Evening News.
Another visitor to the museum, surnamed Wang, said the free shuttle bus helped her avoid the peak visitor hours. "I'll take my child to the Central Book City and buy some books. The timing would be perfect when we come back later to visit the museum," she said.
This collaborative service, provided by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, Futian district government, and Shenzhen Bus Group, will be available on public holidays and weekends during the summer vacation period.
Visitors to the Shenzhen Museum are also encouraged to check the crowd levels through the WeChat mini-program "文旅深圳" (Culture and Tourism Shenzhen) and the public account "深圳博物馆" (Shenzhen Museum) before their visit.
The museum is particularly popular this summer due to the exhibition "熊猫时代——揭秘大熊猫的前世今生" (Panda Eras – the Past and Present of Giant Pandas), which focuses on the charismatic animal and its evolution.
