HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on Thursday released the 2024 provisional registers of voters and lists of omissions for geographical constituencies, functional constituencies, and Election Committee subsectors.

The 2024 provisional register for geographical constituencies contains about 4,207,500 registered electors, the government said in a notification.

The Registration and Electoral Office has received about 18,900 new registration applications and some 138,000 applications from registered electors of geographical constituencies wishing to update their particulars.

Electoral records of about 142,400 electors have been deleted due to being listed on the omissions list for death or other reasons, according to the notification.

The 2024 provisional register for functional constituencies contains about 197,700 registered electors, while the provisional register for Election Committee subsectors has around 8,600 names.

The final registers will be published on or before Sept 25.

The REO asked the public to check their registration status and particulars through "iAM Smart" mobile phone application, the voter registration website or inquire via the REO hotline at 2891 1001. If they have any inquiries, they should contact the REO by Aug 25.

“The REO has earlier mailed to the relevant electors/voters to confirm their new registration or change of registration particulars. Those who have provided mobile phone numbers or email addresses would have received the messages concerned. All SMS messages issued by the REO will start with the prefix '#' in the sender ID for identification," said an REO spokesman.

Notices on the inspection of the provisional registers of voters and omissions lists were published in the Government Gazette on Thursday.
