HONG KONG – The 2023 final registers of electors for geographical constituencies, functional constituencies, and Election Committee subsectors were released on Monday, the Registration and Electoral Office announced.
The seventh District Council Ordinary Election – the city’s first district council election in the wake of an array of reforms to its district-level governance in the aftermath of the social unrest of 2019 – is scheduled to be held on Dec 10.
The District Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2023 was published in the gazette and came into effect on July 10. As per the ordinance amendment, the boundaries of the 18 districts remain unchanged and there are 44 District Council geographical constituencies (DCGCs) in the 18 districts.
Total 4,333,106 electors are carried in the final register for geographical constituencies, a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said in a statement.
Electors in the final register for geographical constituencies may cast their vote in the District Council Ordinary Election to be held on Dec 10. The Registration and Electoral Office will issue letters to inform voters about their assigned District Council constituencies.

The final register for functional constituencies have 206,656 electors – 198,505 individual electors and 8,151 corporate electors.
For the final register for Election Committee subsectors, there are 2,260 individual voters and 5,335 corporate voters, adding up to total 7,595.
Statistical information about these final registers has been uploaded to the voter registration website. In addition, notices on the inspection of the final registers of electors/voters were gazetted on Monday.

A copy of registers containing entries relating to individuals may only be shown in accordance with statutory requirements, and made available for inspection by specified people only. Meanwhile, a copy of registers containing entries of corporate electors/voters may be inspected by any member of the public.
