China eases past New Zealand in FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup

SHENZHEN, China - Zhang Ziyu scored a game-high 36 points as China upset New Zealand 90-68 in group B to remain perfect in the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup here on Tuesday.

Zhang also collected 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Xu Fengwei added 15 points plus 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.

China built a 27-15 advantage in the first quarter and led 43-33 into the second half. Zhang powered an 11-0 run to seal the victory for the host.

Other matches saw Chinese Taipei sweep Malaysia 90-34, Australia beat South Korea 85-52, and Japan trounce Indonesia 80-29.
