Wang Yi congratulates Indian foreign minister on re-assuming office

BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday sent a message to Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, congratulating him on re-assuming office as the external affairs minister of India.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that maintaining good relations between China and India serves the common interests of both sides and is also conducive to peace, stability, development and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

Wang expressed readiness to work with Jaishankar to push forward the sound and stable development of China-India relations by implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries that China and India should see each other as development opportunities rather than threats.
