There is a splendid array of flowers at the market, including mini orange kumquats, blue orchids, budding daffodils, fragrant lilies, and flower-like succulents. In addition to the diverse floral selection, there are also various Chinese couplets and New Year decorations, adding to the festive ambiance.
“I set up the booth and started selling flowers on Wednesday — the first one in Futian flower market. Sales on that day reached 1,700 yuan ($239), followed by 3,900 yuan on the next day. I have been selling flowers at this fair for four years, and such sales are unprecedented,” said Wen Kefeng, a vendor at the market and designer of Jiangxin Architectural Design Company. He said the rent of his stalls costs about 3,000 yuan for seven days until Feb 9.
