The Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link will launch two types of multi-ride tickets from Thursday offering up to discounts of up to 36 percent, according to the section’s operator MTR Corporation.
The tickets will be on sale on the 12306 website from Thursday. Passengers buying the tickets can enjoy concessionary fares when traveling between Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Station and a short-haul station on the railway.
The “20-ride Ticket” allows passengers to enjoy discounts up to 11% by taking 20 trips within a 90-day period. The“30-day Ticket”, offers even higher discounts of up to 36%, allowing users to take 60 rides within 30 days

The ticket price for each destination varies, and the MTR has not provided a specific price range of the two new tickets.
Ten short-haul destinations on the Chinese mainland can be selected for both tickets, including Futian, Shenzhen North, Guangzhou South and Guangzhou East.

After purchasing a multi-ride ticket, passengers can reserve train trips. Passengers with a “20-ride Ticket” can reserve four trips, and those who buy a “30-day Ticket” can reserve up to 10 trips at the same time.
Passengers who do not want to take reserved trips can cancel them at any time before departure.
The MTR also said it is expanding the same-day flexible-trip arrangement from Shenzhen’s Futian Station to Shenzhen North Station.

Under the arrangement, which took effect from August 14, 2023, passengers traveling between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Futian Station can make an extra three last-minute changes for free to their train trips in one day.
As Chinese New Year is approaching, the company will also deploy additional staff at West Kowloon Station enhance station to assist passengers.
