PHNOM PENH – Cambodia on Friday rejected the claims that it had ordered all African nationals living in the Southeast Asian country to leave by May 31, 2026.

"It is fake news fabricated to distort the situation and mislead domestic and international audiences," Ministry of Interior Spokesperson Touch Sokhak told Xinhua.

The rejection came a day after foreign media outlets quoted a fake "official notice" purportedly showing that the General Department of Immigration under Cambodia's Ministry of Interior ordered all African nationals to leave the country by the end of May.
