Learning is never just about reading textbooks. Games and toys are perfect complements for gaining knowledge outside the classroom. A new exhibition at the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum in Central, Hong Kong, shows visitors how children studied through play in the olden days.

Dubbed Learning through play: Old textbooks, toys and games, the exhibition showcases different types of Chinese textbooks that were published from the early to the mid-20th century, and various artifacts including toys and teaching props. It gives a glimpse into the development of textbooks and the importance of children's play in teaching.

The event will run from Dec 22, 2023 to March 31, 2024.
