HONG KONG - Hong Kong athletes left for Hangzhou on Thursday to participate in the 19th Asian Games, which is scheduled to start on Saturday and run through Oct 8.

The special administrative region sent its largest-ever contingent to compete in the event, with over 900 representatives, including 681 athletes spanning 41 sports. 

The Asian Games, also called the Asiad, is held every four years, with a series of athletic events for participants from Asia.
