Hong Kong swim ace Siobhan Haughey on Tuesday topped the women’s 100-meter freestyle event at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, bagging the third gold medal for the special administrative region delegation.

Haughey, who holds the event’s Asian record, reached the finishing line in 52.45 seconds, followed by Yu Yiting and Cheng Yujie of China’s national team.

Dubbed “flying fish”, Haughey had won a gold in the women’s 200m freestyle event on Monday.

As of 4pm on Tuesday, the Hong Kong SAR delegation had won 11 medals -- three golds, four silvers and four bronzes.

Hong Kong has about 580 athletes competing in 38 events in the 2026 Asian Games which runs from Sept 19 to Oct 4.
