China is open to and welcomes the United States Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's willingness to visit the country this year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

Shu Jueting, a spokeswoman for the ministry, made the comments in response to media inquiries, adding that communication with the US in this regard is under way.

China will remain committed to addressing each other's concerns in the area of economy and trade through dialogue and will promote constructive and pragmatic cooperation, Shu said.
