Supermoon seen around world

The first of the four “supermoons” this year has started to captivate skywatchers around the world and is set to be at its brightest on Monday. 

A supermoon occurs when the moon is in its full moon phase while being at its nearest point to the Earth, appearing larger and brighter in the night sky.
