Shanghai advances to Chinese Men's Volleyball League finals

BAODING, China - Shanghai secured its spot in the finals of the Chinese Men's Volleyball Super League with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 win over Zhejiang in the decider of the semifinal series in Baoding on Sunday.

With the second consecutive win, Shanghai came from behind to defeat Zhejiang 2-1 in the best-of-three series.

Spiker Bartosz Bednorz took 15 points, contributing key blocks and serve points to lead Shanghai, while Giulio Sabbi and Osmany Juantorena added 11 points and 10 points respectively

Shanghai will face off defending champion Beijing in the best-of-three final scheduled from next Wednesday to Friday.

Also on Sunday, Baoding beat Nanjing 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.

In other league matches in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, Shenzhen eased past Yunnan 25-10, 25-13, 25-15, Henan overcame Liaoning 24-26, 25-13, 25-14, 25-19, while Fujian beat Huangshi 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19.
