JERUSALEM - Barcelona achieved their fifth EuroLeague basketball win in seven games, after overcoming Maccabi Tel Aviv 86-79 at the Menorah Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel on Thursday evening.
Points by Nicolas Laprovittola and Mike Tobey helped Barcelona lead 23-20 at the end of the first quarter, but Lorenzo Brown inspired Maccabi to a 43-40 lead by halftime

The close game continued in the third quarter, ending 62-61 for the visitors. Then contributions by Cory Higgins and poor offense by Maccabi allowed Barcelona to take a 73-62 lead in the 35th minute.
It was Maccabi's third EuroLeague loss.
Laprovittola scored game-high 19 points for Barcelona. Higgins added 15 points, while Tobey contributed 14.

Brown scored a team-high 18 points for Maccabi. His teammate Wade Baldwin added 16.
In the eighth round, Barcelona will play against Anadolu Efes in Istanbul on November 17, while Maccabi will meet Partizan in Belgrade the next evening.
