JERUSALEM - Israel beat Scotland 1-0 at home on Wednesday in Group B2 of the UEFA's Nations League.

The defeat slipped the Scots to second place in the four-team group, after the closing matchday 6, and prevented them from being promoted to League A.

The Czech Republic, who beat Slovakia 2-0, finished first in the group with 12 points, two more than Scotland.

Israel finished third with 8 points, while Slovakia relegated to League C after finishing fourth with 4 points.

The match in Israel played behind closed doors in the coastal city of Netanya, saw the winning goal for the home team in the 44th Minute, with Manor Solomon scoring after a pass by Eran Zahavi.

The visitors opened the second half strongly but missed several chances.

Later in the second half, Israel took back control, but Zahavi's misses kept the score at 1-0.

At the final seconds of the match, Israeli goalkeeper Ofir Marciano made an impressive save after a shot by Leigh Griffiths.
