RIYADH – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Tuesday that the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia has been postponed from its original dates of Jan 7 to Feb 5, 2027, to Dec 23, 2027, through Jan 21, 2028.
In a statement, the AFC said the decision was made following consultations with the tournament's Local Organizing Committee and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
The AFC said the rescheduling was approved in light of exceptional circumstances arising from regional developments, including significant logistical challenges and travel disruptions.
The new tournament dates will be submitted to FIFA for approval.
