Hong Kong has secured exclusive rights to host Vinexpo – a premier international wine and spirits trade exhibition – in Asia for five consecutive years starting next year.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board and Vinexposium – a leading global organizer of wine and spirits trade events – signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday to establish a five-year strategic partnership through 2031.
The first annual event under the partnership is due to take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 8 to 10 next year.
HKTB Executive Director Anthony Lau and Overseas Events Director of Vinexposium Déborah Sanchez signed the agreement on behalf of the two organizations.
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, HKTB Chairman Peter Lam Kin-ngok, Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux Fabien Robert and Elected Member of the Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry Philippe Tapie witnessed the signing.
Both sides also plan to expand the scale of the event and take it beyond the exhibition halls, drawing on Hong Kong’s distinctive dining, culture and lifestyle to create a citywide experience.

This will attract more high-value visitors to discover the appeal of the city’s international wine and spirits celebration, while leveraging the multiplier effect of major international MICE events to drive growth across the tourism, hospitality, dining and retail sectors, the HKTB said.
Lam thanked Vinexposium, describing the decision as a powerful endorsement of Hong Kong’s unique advantages as an international trade center.
“More importantly, it demonstrates the confidence that global business and event organizers continue to place in Hong Kong. Under this new partnership, we also take Vinexpo Asia beyond the exhibition halls and make it a city-wide event,” he said.
Pointing out that Hong Kong has been an integral part of Vinexpo Asia’s journey since 1998, Tapie said: “By establishing Hong Kong as the annual home of Vinexpo Asia from 2027 through 2031, we are providing the continuity and certainty that businesses increasingly value, enabling producers, buyers and industry professionals to plan, connect and grow over the long term.”
The renewed partnership also creates exciting opportunities to strengthen links between the international wine and spirits community and Hong Kong's vibrant gastronomy, hospitality and lifestyle sectors, opening a new chapter for Vinexpo Asia and the industry as a whole, he added.
