
HONG KONG — The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) and the Vocational Training Council (VTC) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to deepen their strategic partnership in vocational and professional education, aiming to strengthen pre-employment and in-service talent development.
The MoU was signed by HKGCC Chief Executive Officer Patrick Yeung and VTC Executive Director Donald Tong, witnessed by HKGCC Chairman Jacob Kam and VTC Chairman Jeffrey Lam.
Kam announced the launch of the “AI & Innovation Initiative,” featuring partner-led AI Adoption Cohorts designed to accelerate the growth of Hong Kong’s AI ecosystem.
“We aim to address shared business needs and explore ways to provide SMEs with targeted training, technical guidance, and implementation support,” he said.

Lam said amid rapid AI advancement and digital transformation, talent has become a key driver of economic competitiveness. The collaboration reflects both parties’ commitment to deepening industry-education integration and nurturing future-ready talent, he added.
Under the partnership, the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology will provide continuing education in AI and cybersecurity for HKGCC staff and member companies.
HKGCC will promote vocational education among member firms and encourage internships and employment opportunities for VTC students, while VTC will support youth leadership development activities.
