A stunning 23-minute fireworks display featuring 31,888 pyrotechnic shells in eight scenes is set to illuminate Victoria Harbour on National Day, aiming to channel society's positive energy and embody the spirit of national unity.
Under the theme "Eternal radiance fireworks in bloom, illuminating our country”, this year's spectacle will be launched from nine firing points across three barges and six floating pontoons strategically placed in the harbor. The details, along with an overall budget of around HK$18 million ($2.3 million), were announced by representatives from the sponsor and the production company at a press conference on Wednesday.
Beginning at 8 pm on Oct 1, this year's fireworks display will feature patterns such as sunflowers, peonies, vibrant red hearts and yellow stars, accompanied by soundtracks that include classic Hong Kong hits, contemporary pop songs, as well as selections from the Chinese mainland and abroad. Sound equipment will be set up around the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai to enhance the viewing experience.

Wilson Mao, CEO of Pyromagic Multimedia Productions, said that the second scene is the one of the highlights this year. It will be the first time the night sky will be illuminated with gold and red ring patterns, which symbolize hope, warmth and optimism, and reflects the resilience and confidence that continue to inspire the community.
The fourth chapter “Dreams in the Starry Galaxy” will be presented together with a song from mainland singer Zhang Jie. This scene will create a breathtaking interstellar panorama through patterns such as shifting multi-colored spheres and cosmic trails. It aims to celebrate the courage of Hong Kong people to pursue their dreams, break new ground and strive towards their aspirations.
Mao highlighted some technical breakthroughs this year. For example, in the second scene, through precise timing, the circular rings of fireworks will be perfectly coordinated to complete a full rotation.

Clement Lam, CEO of Sun Life Hong Kong — the sponsor of this year’s fireworks — said that the display not only celebrates the nation’s achievements, but also reflects heartfelt wishes for Hong Kong’s continued prosperity and success.
As a flagship annual event, the National Day fireworks showcase the vibrancy and charm of Hong Kong, Lam said, adding that he felt honored to help consolidate the city's status as Asia's premier events capital.
Prime viewing spots include Tsim Sha Tsui, the Mid-Levels, Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and the Hung Hom bypass. For a fully immersive audiovisual experience, RTHK Radio 4 will provide live synchronized music during the fireworks.
