China's manufacturing PMI at 49.8 in August

BEIJING — The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector stood at 49.8 in August, up 0.6 percentage points from July, official data showed Monday.
The PMI for China's non-manufacturing sector came in at 49 in August, unchanged from the July level, official data showed on Monday.
