
MACAO - Total non-gaming spending of visitors to the Macao Special Administrative Region reached 44.47 billion patacas ($5.51 billion) in the first half of 2026, up 17.4 percent year-on-year, the SAR's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) said on Friday.
Spending by overnight visitors rose 8.0 percent to 32.41 billion patacas, while that of same-day visitors surged 53.5 percent to 12.05 billion patacas, the service noted.
Data showed that per-capita non-gaming spending increased 7.8 percent year-on-year to 2,123 patacas. Shopping was the largest expense category, accounting for 46.0 percent of total visitor spending, followed by accommodation and food and beverages.

In the second quarter, the DSEC said, total non-gaming spending rose 9.8 percent year-on-year to 20.04 billion patacas, while per-capita spending increased 5.6 percent to 2,059 patacas.
