The second phase of the 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou on Thursday, shifting attention from advanced manufacturing to the art of daily living.

Under the theme “Quality Living”, this phase spans 515,000 square meters and features 25,000 booths dedicated to home goods, gifts and decorations, as well as building materials and furniture.

Sustainability stands out as a key highlight. Among the innovations on display are fully recyclable wood-plastic composites made from waste wood and recycled plastic, biodegradable tableware produced from sugarcane and bamboo pulp, and modular prefabricated houses that point to new directions for living spaces and garden aesthetics.

The fair continues to draw major global retailers. International buyers including Walmart, Tesco, and Carrefour are in attendance.
