The traditional Chinese language editions of President Xi Jinping’s three works, covering his insights on the economy and his exchanges with university students in recent decades, made their debut in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Wednesday.

The three titles are the first volume of Selected Works of Xi Jinping on Economy, and two volumes of Xi Jinping and University Students.

The book on the selected works of Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on the economy compiles his most important writings on economic development from November 2012 through December 2024. It serves as an authoritative publication, offering a comprehensive and systematic exposition of Xi Jinping Thought on Economy.

The first and second volumes of Xi Jinping and University Students recount his interactions with university students during his years working at both the local and central levels, demonstrating Xi’s consistent care for young people, and university students in particular.

A seminar was held to mark the launch of the books. The event was attended by Zhou Ji, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, and representatives from local community organizations, institutions, and figures from the economic, cultural and educational sectors.

Lee said these works will help Hong Kong residents, especially young people, gain a more comprehensive understanding of the national development landscape and the opportunities it presents. He expressed confidence that the works will inspire greater enthusiasm and a stronger sense of purpose in the SAR to contribute to national development.

He encouraged residents to read the works and translate such “spiritual wealth and a treasure trove of wisdom” into action, helping Hong Kong better integrate into and serve the nation’s overall development.

Starting Wednesday, the traditional Chinese editions of the three books went on sale at major bookstores across Hong Kong and Macao.
