HONG KONG - A multimedia show is going to combine a play, a film, and a concert into one concurrent performance, taking the Hong Kong audience to a multisensory feast.

Part of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's "Cheers!" Series, The Storyville Mosquito will be performed, filmed and scored in real time, with the support of a 14-person team.

Created by Canadian artist Kid Koala, The Storyville Mosquito tells the story of a young mosquito that leaves its small town to seek fame and fortune in a big city and fulfil its dream of playing clarinet in a jazz band at a music hall. Driven by its passion for music and the support of friends, the mosquito moves step by step towards its dream.

Puppeteers, foley artists, cinematographers and technicians will simultaneously manipulate 75 handcrafted puppets of various scales and move through 20 miniature sets. The whole process will be filmed in one continuous take and projected onto the screen by eight cameras.

The show will be performed on Friday and Saturday nights at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre, which opened on Nov 3.
