A cold front is gradually moving southward over inland Guangdong, bringing thundery showers to the region, according to the Hong Kong Observatory on Monday.
The observatory noted that visibility near Waglan Island occasionally dropped to around 100 meters, with The Peak entirely obscured, due to a moist southerly airstream affecting the Guangdong coast.
For Monday afternoon and evening, the weather is expected to be mainly cloudy, with a few showers and coastal fog initially. Showers are anticipated to become more frequent, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms later. Light winds are forecasted to shift to moderate northeasterlies tonight.
China Daily's Andy Chong captured the scenery on Monday.
