BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.15 percent to 3,864.18 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.02 percent higher at 12,907.83 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.78 trillion yuan (about 251 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.81 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to computing power hardware and the anti-flu concept led the gains, while those related to military equipment as well as forestry and gaming sectors suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 2.14 percent to close at 3,044.69 points.
