On Thursday — the final competition day for the Hong Kong delegation — Hong Kong male epeeists Cedric Ho Wai-hang, Lau Ho-fung, Fong Hoi-sun and Ng Ho-tin were defeated in the quarterfinals of the men’s epee team event, narrowly losing 44-45 to the Shandong team.

In the women's team foil event, the Hong Kong athletes ended their run in the quarterfinals after losing 36-45 to the Chongqing team.

Despite the setbacks on Thursday, Hong Kong fencers have achieved their best results in the history of the national sports meet, securing a historic gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
