An exhibition featuring over one hundred spectacular textiles from the Neolithic period up to the early 20th century was unveiled in the West Kowloon Cultural District on Monday.
Titled A History of China in Silk: The Chris Hall Collection at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the event showcases silk as a remarkable creation of Chinese ancestors and serves as an important footprint in the origin and development of Chinese civilization.
The exhibition's five sections, presented in chronological order, weave a vivid tapestry of China, its society, clothing culture, and interactions with the world.
Last year, Chris Hall, a renowned Hong Kong-based Chinese textile collector, offered the HKPM his promised gifts for a historical textiles collection that spans from the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) to the 21st century.
China Daily's Adam Lam took the photos on Monday.
