HONG KONG - A spokesperson for the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Tuesday strongly denounced smearing attacks on the national security law in Hong Kong in reports, comments and editorials published by certain foreign media outlets.
The implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong has restored order in the city, granting its residents safety and putting economic development back on track, said the spokesperson.

In utter disregard of facts, these media outlets vilified lawful actions taken by the HKSAR's law-enforcement bodies and defended anti-China elements destabilizing Hong Kong who had fled overseas by portraying them as so-called "victims," noted the spokesperson.
The spokesperson urged relevant media outlets to abide by journalistic ethics and cease false coverage on Hong Kong matters.
