BEIJING - China congratulates the People's Action Party (PAP) on its victory in the Singaporean general election, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a regular press conference on Tuesday.

Singapore's ruling party, led by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, secured a clear mandate in Saturday's general election, winning 65.57 percent of the popular vote.

Noting that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, Lin said China attaches great importance to the development of China-Singapore relations.
