Hu, Adams named CBA Players of the Month

BEIJING - Zhejiang Lions center Hu Jinqiu and Fujian Sturgeons guard Darius Adams have been named Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Players of the Month for January.

Hu helped Zhejiang to 5-3 tally from the 21st to the 28th round with averages of 19.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.0 block and 1.6 steals.

The CBA's third stage will resume on March 1, with games to be played on a home-and-away basis

Adams led Fujian to a 4-4 month by averaging 32.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 2.8 steals.

After the second stage of the CBA regular season, Zhejiang rank 10th with a win-loss record of 14-14, while Fujian sit second from bottom at 6-22.

Also on Saturday, Xinjiang Flying Tigers center Tacko Fall was named CBA Defensive Player of the Month.

Standing 2.28m tall, Fall averaged 3.5 blocks and 7.4 defensive rebounds in January. With his huge frame protecting the rim, Xinjiang have managed to claw themselves back into the top eight, currently sitting seventh with a 17-11 record.
