Wu Lei glad to see open Chinese Super League title race

BEIJING - Shanghai Port striker Wu Lei said he was glad to see the Chinese Super League (CSL) title race is wide open after Shandong Taishan has caught up with league leaders Wuhan Three Towns.

Wu rejoiced at the prospect of a two-horse CSL title race this season, saying it "will make our league more appealing."

"I look forward to seeing more teams join the title race," he added.

Wuhan remained unbeaten in 17 games to open the current campaign, leading Shandong by seven points, while beginning to falter after losing 4-3 to the Cangzhou Mighty Lions in late September.

The newly-promoted side went on to lose two of their recent four games, giving Shandong chances to catch up.
