BEIJING - Shanghai Port striker Wu Lei has been voted the best player of the Chinese Super League (CSL) 19th round ties.

The former Espanyol player outshone other candidates for the award after he scored a hat-trick in Shanghai Port's 7-0 win over Meizhou Hakka on Monday.

"Shanghai Port player Wu Lei, who contributed three goals, not only helped his team win the game with his prowess, but also instilled more confidence in the team," the CSL said in a statement on Thursday.

The 30-year-old so far has scored five goals in four outings for the Shanghai side following his return from the La Liga side Espanyol in August.
