By China Daily

Editor’s note: As China Daily Hong Kong Edition celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, we have invited leaders from various sectors who have deep bonds with us to join us in our celebrations. Let’s read what they say, as well as their messages of congratulations and best wishes for CDHK’s future.

It is my pleasure to speak on behalf of all schools and education centers of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals when I congratulate China Daily Hong Kong Edition on proudly reaching its 25th anniversary.

CDHK has become an influential media platform with a vast print and online circulation. Through its newspaper and different online platforms, CDHK connects the journalism of China to the English-speaking world and hence opens up communication with global communities of different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

CDHK has also extended its narrative powers to a younger generation by providing an English learning online platform, VDO English, which has organized different activities and competitions to promote English learning.

Tung Wah schools participate in the “21st Century Cup” English Speaking Competition. This year, one of our students from TWGH’s Kap Yan Directors’ College won 2nd runner-up (Senior Secondary Category) in the Hong Kong Region and will compete with other regional winners at a nationwide level.

Tung Wah appreciates these opportunities and resources for our students to perfect their English language competency and explore further exposure at national and global level. This is very encouraging and inspiring to the fellow students of Tung Wah schools.

With its influential and leading role in journalism, we believe that CDHK will continue on a path to becoming one of the most prestigious and respected newspapers globally.

Tung Wah is looking forward to a closer partnership with CDHK in the future, with the ambition of nurturing a new generation with global perspectives and the vision to understand the world and China.
