Four men charged over HK gang clash

HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Police Force laid holding charges on Sunday against four men over the gang clash in Central district early Friday morning, during which at least two shots were fired and three people were injured.

Police arrested the four men earlier after the gang clash occurred on Wyndham Street near Lan Kwai Fong at around 2:40 am Friday

In a statement, the police said a local man and three non-ethnic Chinese men, aged 23 to 42, were charged jointly with one count of attempted wounding with intent and each with one count of possession of offensive weapon.

Police arrested the four men earlier after the gang clash occurred on Wyndham Street near Lan Kwai Fong at around 2:40 am Friday.

Knife-wielding gangsters emerged from two vehicles and attacked people in three cars waiting for the traffic light. At least two shots were fired during the incident, which involved at least eight people and five vehicles, police said.

The case will be mentioned at Eastern Magistrates’ Courts on Monday morning. The Organised Crime and Triad Bureau is also conducting a follow-up operation.
