The two were scheduled to appear before the Fanling Magistrates' Courts for a mention hearing on Monday morning but, according to local media reports, they were not able to attend because they were still in the hospital. The hearing was reset to June 10.
The police earlier said that they received a report on Friday evening from a 67-year-old man who had failed to contact his 32-year-old daughter.
Police officers went to a village house in Shui Tau Tsuen in Pat Heung, Yuen Long, where they found the couple inside a room.
The baby girl was found lying unconscious on the floor in another room. She had neck injuries and was certified dead at the scene, police said, adding that an initial investigation showed that the man had been treated for mental health problems.
The police declined to give further details on Monday as the case has been filed in court and is now sub judice.
