Guadalajara eyeing move for Bielsa

MEXICO CITY - Guadalajara are preparing a bid to sign Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa, according to media reports in Mexico.

Local newspaper Record said Bielsa was the club's top priority ahead of the Liga MX Apertura season, scheduled to begin in July

Las Chivas, as the Liga MX club is known, have been searching for a permanent manager since parting ways with Michel Leano on April 14.

Bielsa has been out of work since being sacked by Leeds United in February. The 66-year-old has also been linked to the vacant positions with the Chile and Colombia national teams.

Chivas recovered from a poor start to the current Liga MX Clausura season to finish fifth in the 18-team standings under interim manager Ricardo Cadena. They will host Pumas in the first round of the Liga MX playoffs on Sunday.
