5 COVID-19 cases found in Tuen Mun testing

HONG KONG – Government staff members detected five positive COVID-19 cases during an overnight testing operation in Tuen Mun. 

In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, the government said five positive infections and eight indeterminate cases were found at Tip Sum House, Butterfly Estate in Tuen Mun.

The government tested 940 residents after cordoning off the building at 4:30 pm on Tuesday after conducting a risk assessment. Government staff members also visited about 800 households in the area but 64 did not answer the door. 

The government reminded members of the households that did not answer to have themselves tested as soon as possible to avoid the spread of the virus. The testing operation was finished by 9:30 am Wednesday.

Hong Kong recorded 347 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a drop from the 431 infections reported on Monday.
