2 preliminary cases found in Kwai Fong, Wong Tai Sin testing

HONG KONG - Two preliminary COVID-19 cases were found during overnight targeted testing operations in Kwai Fong and Wong Tai Sin.

The government said in a statement that 1,030 persons underwent compulsory testing at Block 1 and Block 2 of Hsin Kuang Centre, 120 Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin and one of them tested preliminarily positive.

The government conducted the testing operation in Hsin Kuang Centre, Wong Tai Sin due to concerns that there might be asymptomatic cases in the area after a sewage sample tested positive for COVID-19

The government also set up a restricted area in Block C , New Kwai Fong Gardens, 12-20 Kwai Yi Road, Kwai Fong, where another case was detected.

The patient was brought to a hospital while a close contact was sent to a quarantine center, the government said.

The government conducted the testing operation in Hsin Kuang Centre due to concerns that there might be asymptomatic cases in the area after a sewage sample tested positive for the virus.

The restricted area was set up in New Kwai Fong Gardens after one person tested preliminarily positive for a COVID-19 mutant strain.

The government also conducted targeted testing operations at On Shun Building, 15-31 Shung Yan Street, Kwun Tong and Cheung Bor House, Choi Wan (I) Estate but no new cases were found.
