Officials from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries have called for strengthening exchanges and cooperation on governance capacity-building and leadership development to cope with the rising domestic and external challenges confronting members in the evolving geopolitical landscape.
Foreign participants at the SCO Forum on Governance and Leadership, which was organized by the China National Academy of Governance and the SCO secretariat on Tuesday, also hailed the Communist Party of China's great achievements in governing China in recent decades, and expressed hopes of sharing the country's governance experience.
Vice-Foreign Minister Le Yucheng expressed hope that members could take advantage of the anniversary to promote exchanges of governance experience to further enhance political trust and boost common development and prosperity
Addressing the forum, Chen Xi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department, said that amid profound changes to the geopolitical landscape unseen in many years, there remained a great many difficulties and challenges to both state and global governance.

To respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, promote economic recovery and uphold global stability, countries need to strengthen awareness of "a community with a shared future" and intensify communication and exchanges to secure win-win cooperation, said Chen, who is also president of the China National Academy of Governance.
Azizi Abdujabbor Abudukahhor, first deputy chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, said he learned about the CPC's people-centered development philosophy after reading President Xi Jinping's The Governance of China.
Xi's vision of state governance and global governance, his proposal of a Chinese solution to major problems facing humanity, as well as his concepts of building a "community with a shared future for mankind" and a new type of international relations are greatly relevant to today's world, he added.
Noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the SCO's founding, Vice-Foreign Minister Le Yucheng expressed hope that members could take advantage of the anniversary to promote exchanges of governance experience to further enhance political trust and boost common development and prosperity.

Grigory Logvinov, the SCO's deputy secretary-general, warned at the forum that some countries are attempting to use the so-called rules-based order to take the place of the international system established after World War II, which has the United Nations at its core. He called on SCO members to boost exchanges and cooperation in governance and make contributions to safeguarding regional security and securing sustainable growth and prosperity.
Almazbek Akmataliev, president of Kyrgyzstan's Academy of Public Administration, said his country wants to learn from China's governance experience and work with China to deal with the threats and challenges the world is facing.
