Li Feng, chairman of China Mobile Hong Kong, is originally from Jining, Shandong province, where the Confucius culture has deep roots.

Li told China Daily that he believes that “gentlemen love fortune, in a proper way”, which translates into the business word as meaning that a company must conduct its business with honesty and integrity.
He brought his belief into Hong Kong and became the chairman of CMHK in 2016. Li has always been with China Mobile; before he came to Hong Kong, he worked in Shandong, Yunnan and Jiangxi provinces.
“I really enjoy working here. Our team here is really hard-working and has a strong ability to execute,” Li said.
He said that his sense of responsibility to the company, the employees and CMHK’s customers motivate him to work hard, and seeing CMHK become stronger and better every day makes his job very rewarding.

Li said that when he is not working, he enjoys hiking among the mountains in the city, as he said the hiking routes are wonderful with stunning views.

Li said the hiking resources in Hong Kong are outstanding, and it is almost the only way to fully appreciate the beauty of the city. Besides, the pandemic makes people pay more attention to exercise, and hiking is a fantastic way to work out.
“People always say that Hong Kong is a shopping paradise, but I believe the city is so much more. I really hope that the CMHK Hong Kong Hiking Festival will become a calling card of Hong Kong so that more people around the world can enjoy Hong Kong from a brand new angle,” he said.
Li said that from his observation, youngsters in Hong Kong, particularly college graduates, are very bright, and the city has presented them with immense opportunities.
“If I have one suggestion for them, it might be not to change your job too quickly or too frequently,” he said.
Li believes that for young people to have great careers, they should adopt a more down-to-earth attitude. He noticed that since the city has so many great job opportunities to offer, college graduates tend to change jobs frequently.
“I can understand the motive behind this, but I have to say, it takes more than one or two years to fully understand an industry, and I do believe youngsters can benefit more if they can lay a solid foundation at the initial stage of their careers,” he said.

Li also said that Hong Kong government should do more and leverage the advantage of being the technology and innovation center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, to help young people in the city start their own businesses.
The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship is very important to a city. Hong Kong once was in a leading position when deploying the technology of 2G, 3G and 4G. But when it comes to 5G, it is lagging behind the mainland, and that is something that is worth thinking about, Li said.
Youngsters in Hong Kong should fully understand their own advantages, and know their limits, they should take advantage of the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area so that they can build a brighter future for themselves and for Hong Kong, Li said.
