Jordan's 19th Lower House sees 100 new members

AMMAN - Jordan's 19th Lower House of Parliament will have 100 new members joining the legislative body, according to the Independent Election Commission.

At a press conference to announce the final results of the parliamentary election held on Thursday, Khaled Kalaldeh, head of the commission, said 30 members of the former Lower House won the election and returned to the Lower House.

According to the commission, some 1.38 million Jordan's voters, which represented 29.9 percent of the total eligible voters, on Tuesday cast their ballots to elect 130 members of the Lower House from 1,674 registered candidates.
