HONG KONG - Hong Kong Observatory raised the typhoon signal to No. 8, the third-highest on its scale, at 5:40 am on Tuesday as Typhoon Nangka skirted the coast of the financial hub. The No. 8 signal is expected to remain in force throughout the day. China Daily photographers captured how residents braved the wind.
