Chinese Super League releases second stage fixtures

BEIJING - The Chinese Super League (CSL) unveiled the fixtures and format for the second stage of the 2020 CSL season on Sunday.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced that the second phase matches would be played in a two-legged knockout format, with the CSL's 16 teams divided into a championship group and a relegation group

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced that the second phase matches would be played in a two-legged knockout format, with the CSL's 16 teams divided into a championship group (Final A) and a relegation group (Final B).

The top four teams from the first phase of the Suzhou and Dalian zones, respectively, will move into Final A to determine the eventual league champions and the top eight rankings. The bottom four teams from the Suzhou and Dalian zones will enter Final B to battle against relegation to the second-tier League One.

Suzhou, in east China's Jiangsu province, will host Final A, while Final B will be staged in Dalian, in northeast China's Liaoning province.

The first match of the championship group will take place on Oct 16, with this season's CSL champions to be crowned on Nov 12.
