WASHINGTON - Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will sign their normalization agreement at the White House on Sept 15, US officials said on Tuesday.

Israel and the UAE last month announced the full normalization of relations, making the UAE the first Gulf Arab state and only the third Arab nation to establish diplomatic ties with Israel

Citing US officials, media reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan would attend the signing ceremony.

"I am proud to travel to Washington next week, at the invitation of President Trump, and to attend the historic ceremony at the White House to form the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates," Netanyahu tweeted Tuesday.

According to the deal, Israel agrees to suspend its plan to annex parts of the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank.
