JERUSALEM - Israel said on Tuesday that it will send a delegation to Abu Dhabi on Monday for normalization talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials and US President Donald Trump's top aides.

The talks will focus on "ways to promote cooperation in a variety of fields such as aviation and tourism, trade, economy and finance, health, energy, security and more," according to a statement issued by Netanyahu's office

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement that the delegation will be joined by Trump's national security adviser Robert C. O'Brien, his senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, and his special representative for international negotiations Avi Berkowitz.

The Israeli delegation will be headed by chief of the National Security Council, Meir Ben Shabbat, and its members will include the directors of the Prime Minister's Office, foreign ministry and defense ministry.

The talks will focus on "ways to promote cooperation in a variety of fields such as aviation and tourism, trade, economy and finance, health, energy, security and more," according to the statement.

Israel's Channel 12 TV reported that the delegation will fly directly from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi on an Israeli airliner.

Also on Tuesday, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz and UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed al-Bawardi held their first official talk over the phone, which focused on advancing the security ties between the two countries.

They discussed "the need to advance a normalization deal that will establish security relations," according to a statement issued on Gantz's behalf.

A US-brokered deal to normalize ties between Israel and the UAE was announced on Aug 13. The UAE has become the third Arab country to normalize ties with Israel, after Egypt and Jordan.

The conversation between the ministers came amid Israeli dissent at the prospect that the US-brokered deal could grant the Gulf power access to advanced weaponry previously denied to it, such as F-35 stealth fighter jets.
