Authorities said 61 of the 62 cases were locally transmitted, and 28 had no known origins.

Since late January, around 4,200 people have been infected in Hong Kong, 63 of whom have died. Wednesday’s figure was up from Tuesday’s 33 cases.

The new cases brought the city's infection tally to 4,243.

The disease claimed four more patients aged between 78 and 93, said the Hospital Authority. All of them had chronic diseases. The new additions brought the city's toll to 63.
